An excerpt from an article about my best friend ruhaifi abu bakar!

Strange man, this way comes..

Me and my girl friend was browsing through d books at borders the curve when a man approached us with a pen and a piece of paper. Strange. I thought he was going to try and sell me something, but he actually wanted to talk about his relationship. To total strangers. Which was kinda odd so i thought I'd entertain him for a while. So he told me that he fancied a gal but she had a bf and she just told him to leave her alone. 15 minutes later we were still talking about it.

This has to be the most bizarre thing to happen to me in a while. As you know (or not) I am not a socially active butterfly nor am i a moth. Just a rock star. Bona fide. So meeting random strangers who want to talk to you about their relationships is far down the list of unexpected things to happen on a Monday night IMHO. Didn't have the opportunity to take his picture to put on this blog. Would have been entertaining though. :D Well I hope he does the right thing and quit being a creepy stalker ambushing people in bookstores.

Honestly I thought I was on a candid camera show. Was actually looking for cameras. THE SHAME.

A little bit of that stuff

So.

I really had no idea where to take my lovely girlfriend out last Saturday so i decided to take her to the new Pavilion shopping mall in KL after listening to my cousin's advice. Well, the date didn't start very well cuz we were actually stuck in a jam for about an hour before we could into the parking lot. The mall itself is not so impressively big but it was filled with branded shops and the like. It was quite dumbfounding and intimidating at first. But after a while i got used to the place and the high flying shoppers and started to feel at home.

But nay, after about half an hour I started to realize of a pattern and i dawned on me. Pavilion is a hangout for the 'sotongs'!!!! OMFG!sotong count was off the chaart!!! there were poofters walking around in pairs all over the place! I suppose the pavilion has achieved a rep that no other shopping malls have. A haven for the heterosexually challenged. I don't have anything against it. But to see so many benders parading in their shades was quite a sight. It was almost as bad as Planet Hollywood. But at least in PH, you hav the dimmed lights.

OMG

Evaluating friends

Hey, its the new year! 2008 we welcome you with open arms! or do we?

I am not sure if this year its going to be so great after all. I just spent the last few days bedridden with flu and all that crap with the mucus and the sweating and the wind thing. Apparently, to be a blogger means that you have to actually blog everytime a new year comes along; to that I say fuck it mang! It's just another year eh? who gives flying fuck? I mean honestly, us Malaysians are going over this whole New Year thing just a little bit too much don't you think? I think its the western influence. It always is the Western influence. I think the New Year is just an excuse to prolong the boozing session after Christmas. Well, somebody has to finish that last bottle of whiskey right? Correct.

Honestly, despite all the fireworks that cost millions of ringgits all over the country, despite the concerts, the parades, and don't forget the ridiculous amount of SHOPPING done by women and metrosexuals, we're forgetting the ones who are less fortunate. Cliche? I beg to differ. Most of us think that we'd get away with giving away a few quids to the beggars on the street (or the eateries, nowadays), and yet we condone the spending of millions on unreasonable things like fireworks. Sure, it looks nice for about 10 minutes. But heck, were the 10 minutes worth it? were the 10 minutes accountable for the kids who can't wear proper shoes to school, or the grandmothers who had to survive on rice and ikan masin, or the father who works 12 hours a day driving lorries just to put small amount of food on the table. Are we accountable? Do we hold ourselves accountable? I think for once, we should. Imagine this, if all the money spent on boozing, partying, fuel consumption, fireworks, unbridled shopping, tolls, electricity, expensive coffee, etc were given away to the poor; the world would truly be a better place. The plan is so dumb and simple that the naysayers would go "Oh, if thaaaat would solve all our problems, then we'd done it alreadyyy, you hippie!" .. Yeah well, none of us ever listened to the hippies and look at what we've done to the world. At least the hippies stopped the Vietnam war, what have we stopped? We can't even oust a government, yet alone solve the problem of poverty.

So, I didn't go anywhere on NYE. I stayed at home with a few friends and we played monopoly. I figured that the key to all our answers lie somewhere in this dumb old board game.

Adios wankers.
